The design and arrangement of the knobs are engineered to ensure extreme traction on the challenging terrains of the most demanding rallies. The rear tire focuses on traction activation, and for this reason, the tread design consists of 3 large blocks per step, which provide traction on loose surfaces due to their height and spacing. The vertical wall of this knob line acts like a claw that penetrates the ground and generates massive traction. The wide block surface offers a large contact patch that ensures grip on hard terrain. It provides extreme traction in all terrains and conditions, at any temperature and with any speed. The front knob arrangement is specially designed to provide directional stability both in straight lines and in corners. The central knobs feature a composite shape that, due to the large quantity and multiple directions of the working edges and their triangular arrangement, ensures maximum traction during braking and stability on both loose and hard-packed surfaces. The side knobs support the motorcycle during turns and provide precise trajectory and direction when leaning, offering exceptional security. The Karoo Extreme structure ensures a contact feel and braking stability. It is a very lightweight structure to promote stability at high speeds and agile handling. The structure is particularly developed for extreme off-road competition, in combination with tubes and mousse, and to be used in rallies with heavy and powerful motorcycles, ridden at high speeds for long stages, often during warm seasons and in constantly changing terrain conditions. The Karoo Extreme compound formulation combines both natural rubber for mechanical strength and synthetic rubber for wear resistance. The high percentage of carbon black increases resistance to all kinds of stress, even at high temperatures, typical of desert racing, and makes the knobs resistant to "tearing" and premature wear. When used on hard terrains, the compound prevents tire overheating, thus reducing the risk of blowouts and blistering during the race. Due to better overall flexibility, the structure offers excellent puncture resistance, even at low pressures. "R" - for speeds up to 170 km/h (106 mph).
